I'm putting a nailhead/4speed in my shoebox and as much as I don't want to, I believe I am forced to go with a hydraulic clutch setup. Did anyone here put a hydraulic clutch in their shoebox using the stock pedals? I'm looking to see how you setup your clutch master cylinder to your stock clutch pedal. The slave cylinder is pretty straight forward and I shouldn't have any issues setting that up.
I'd have to see what it looks like when everything is in place and make a decision at that time. Always tried not to use hyd slave if possible in the ol days.
where my motor is mounted, the clutch fork is much higher than where the original clutch linkage used to push from. Reason being...the stock clutch fork used to come out of bellhousing at a downward angle. my new aftermarket bellhousing, the clutch fork comes out straight. I am also still thinking about making a "z bar" that will make pull the clutch fork from the front at the correct height.
I'm anxious to find out what clutch pedal with hydraulic reservoir is being used in these Shoebox ('51) swaps. I'm doing the T5 to Flathead swap with juice clutch. Slave mounted to trans, no problem, but how is the stock (through the floor ) clutch rigged with the reservoir for the clutch slave. Are you following?? Are pedals switched to "swing pedals" on firewall? I see there are aftermarket pedal ***emblies set for brake and clutch for hydraulics (Tilton & Wilwood, etc.) but pricey! Is there any junkyard pedal ***emblies being used? Maybe S-10, Blazer, truck, etc.??
