We took a road trip to the Don Garlits museum in Florida on Sunday. Was a really fun time and we got to see a ton of awesome cars. Here are some pics... my wife took a lot of better quality pictures so if you are looking for some better pictures please PM me and i will send them to you.
I have been wanting to go here for years. If you don't mind me asking what is the red car in the first photo of the second post? Thanks!
Been there three times and each time I find something I missed the time before. Great place to visit. Scott
Awesome place. 12 cylinder dragster, speed racers, hot rods, boats, and a bunch of his historic cars. Guy still buys cars as we speak, restores some, but most are preferably survivors for him. I've gone off and on for twenty five years, and yes....I always miss stuff too.....or realistically that guy keeps rotating stuff through as he gets them. Probably a bit of both. More pictures please!! Haven't been in 3 or 4 years.
i have a ton more pictures, i have to sort through them and will post them when i can. Also, need to look at the pictures to accurately say what the red car is. You can just look and look, i could have spent a week there looking at all the intricate beautiful dragsters and antique cars.
unfortunately no, Don wasn't there. I did start talking with them about setting up an official interview with Don. I do a lot of video and audio projects locally. I am really hoping to interview him and get some great stuff for my audiences.
Don Garlits...What a genius a**** us !!!... and ,he never throws anything away...just one visit to his museum will verify that fact.. Last time we went , in a display case, was a jar of marbles he played with as a kid!!! Now ,he's fooling around with an electric dragster...No telling what he will teach us with that experiment... Long Live The Swamp Rat !
