Got some black automotive grade seat vinyl and foam for the seat and backrest and went to town. Got to say for doing it by myself and with no prior experience it came out really nice. Hardest part was the corners but I just trimmed and folded to look the best I could get. Good job for your first attempt! Look into the Upholstery sub-forum for tips on tucking the corners.

Looks good, much better than a torn up seat ha ha

Steve here is an idea. I had a similar Ford pickup with a trashed seat some years back. So I went to the junk yard with a tape measure, and found a rear seat out of a sedan that was the right width and color. If you pick a rear seat it is easy to get a good one, they don't get much wear as a rule.

The seat was out of a 77 Ford LTD II, the red cloth went well with my flat black truck.

I carefully took off the hog rings, removed the foam and covering, and put them on the pickup seat frame and springs. The corners were a little different shape so I stuffed in some pieces of foam to fill them out. Then hog ringed the cover onto the frame.

The end result looked like a brand new seat, and cost $20 plus about $10 bucks for a set of hog ring pliers and some hog rings.

Thanks. Went ahead and put it back Into the truck. I've not got to drive it since I picked the truck up 3 months ago so now that the seat is in I can take it down the road. Here's a picture of the inside. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1408795947.936442.jpg

Had to fix the shifter from leaking out of the side of the ******, new intake, carb, fuel pump, fuel line, and re done the whole inside.
