Lots of interesting bits and pieces in it,I always thought the retractables were 1957-58 only not aware they were made in 1959.You'll find some pictures here: https://www.google.com/search?q=195...reamcars.com%2F1959skyliner082808.htm;549;320 With the top in place they "squarebird" look from the side.
I saw some of the clips that are in that video, had forgotten many of them until seeing 'em again. The dealerships used to get promotional films and sometimes would run them on a loop in the showrooms or customer areas. One place used to store them in a separate room, boxes of films, brochures, salesman selling guides etc. I think all of it went in the trash after the place sold to new owners in the mid/late 70s. IMO, the '59 retractables were my favorites. Once when working at a Ford dealership I had to run a customer home. When we got there I saw he had a '59 retractable in his garage, it had been sitting for what looked like quite awhile. "Do you know anyone who would like to buy this? I don't have time for it and just need to get rid of it." Sitting beside the car were boxes and packages of parts - new quarters, door skins, and a bunch of small parts & pieces. "How much?" "$800.00". I didn't have room in my garage for it. Now, where did I hide that 'kick me' sign?.....
