0731142038a.jpg I just got this delivered a week ago. Surface rust only, floors, trunk. etc are perfect-- zero rot. Missing some interior trim (got any leads?) and other stuff. Got the back brakes and axles out of it now, parts on the way. New front end and front discs to follow. Looking at wiring packages as well.

Welcome to the group. That a nice '59 you have there. I have a 59 Galaxie that I'm trying to piece back together. Keep us posted on your progress.

Weighing power plant options now, have a line on a Boss 351 and 4-speed, no price yet. May go real non-traditional with it too. Right now, just going through the brakes, front end and electrical.. chasing down missing parts.

This would be a sweet mill for your car. My brother bought a 1971 Boss 351 NEW and had it 'improved upon' back in 1971. The power that car had would make a grown man piss himself.

I'm still undecided but that will be a winter project. The BOSS 351 may be a little too much -wise and power-wise.
The plan is to get the rest of the car sorted out before it gets too cold to work outside. I have most of the new front end parts, the back brakes are complete, axles back in too. Sorting out the e-brake now, new gas tank and sender have been ordered as well as door gl***, tires and wheels. I'll be working on moving parts over from my Edsel donor driver's door to mine tonight.

I'm curious what your "real non traditional" drivetrain thoughts might be?

Spiders... got the bites to prove it.
Managed to get the Esdel door parts moved into my driver's door. Had to mock it up using the p***enger-side gl*** since the driver's side is gone.

LOL...he lives in New York...they have wimpy spiders up there. He probably never gets phone calls like I got from my neice a few years ago...
    "Uncle Rich..."
    "Hi sweetie, how are ya?"
"Can you come get this tarantula out of my apartment?"
    "Who is this?"
pause...."I have it cornered in the bathroom."
"Did you know tarantulas can jump 6-8 feet?"
    "I guess I don't have it cornered"

Wimpy spider my ***... this came with the car from Denver. Tons of spider webs all behind the wheels, in the ch***is. My guess it was a brown recluse that didn't get that much venom into the bites. The one on my palm by my ring finger was the worst, swelled up and oozing for a few days. Looks much better 2 weeks after. I now wear those blue disposable gloves when I work on it.

Got a lot of options. I have to go look at a '64 Galaxie with a factory 390 and 4-speed. The rest of the car is quite rusty. Someone else has a Lincoln with a 429 or 460 in it, but I'd have to dig up all the parts for it, bellhousing, clutch, etc.

Then I have a 396 Chevy that needs some work, but is complete. I also have a 355 Chevy that was last used in my stock car some years back. I'm trying to use what I have on hand if possible to keep the build on budget.

So I guess there's no engine in it at the moment. You've got a nice blank canv*** to work on.

I have enough to keep me busy while I put the feelers out for drive train options. The OG idea was a 429/460 and a 4-speed, but I know nothing about bellhousing/clutch numbers.
