Hot Rods dry ice blasting

Talked to a company today about dry ice blasting to clean my flathead blocks. Any of you guys ever tried it?

 

No, but always wanted to do the same. If you have it done let us know the results!

I have used one at work on printing presses it takes the ink right off and does not harm the finnish or parts, it can wreck wire insulation if the spray is held too long on the wires. The one we used would not take off rust, it will work good if you want to do the engine in place.
The only clean up is the **** that come off the engine.
Some systems may be able to add abrasives intothe blast stream to remove rust/paint.

 

we have 3 at work, they work great on build up in our mold operations. They do not harm the paint, just take off the plastic residue build up. there is minimal clean up. I tried one on a rusty rim and some sheet metal, it cleaned it,but did not remove the heavy rust. if you are trying to remove oil gunk, it does not work well, just freezes it and pushes the s*** around..........one extra benefit is that you can bring home a bucket of dry ice and show your kids / grandkids how to freeze a flower and break it
