1952-59 Ford '54 Ford Club of America Convention

    I have just finished loading up the wagon,,ladyhrp and I are planning to leave early tomorrow morning to make the trek to Novi, Michigan for the 10th bi-annual show. 14th - 17th.

    This is the first one I will attend and we are also planning on seeing what all the talk is about the Woodard Dream cruise in the process. HRP

    Coronado kit??? same as Continental kit?...in any case, I sure like the ones on '54's I think Ford lost it when they went to the overstated extensions in '57 up.

    the coronado kit mounted to the trunk lid where as conny mounted between trunk and bumper as seen in pic of red car with cow catcher {bumper guard}

    Typically a conny actual has a tire in it,, The Coronado is just for looks.. Not sure when they came out but I always relate 54 Fords and Coronado kits.

    54's and Corondo kits are like PBJ saniches... Not sure I have ever seen one on anything else.

    Like you ,that's all I remember seeing them on but you and I both know that the 52-54 has the same basic trunk lid so if someone wanted to add it to a earlier car they could easily do so. HRP

    Yep I have to retract never seeing one on anything else.. Saw a picture of one on a Merc..Didn't fit or look good

    And wouldn't you know it as soon as I shoot my mouth off about never seeing one on anything but a 54 on my way to work I saw a 53 Ford sedan with one...I have never seen this car before but my wife said she followed the car down main street a couple of weeks ago. HRP

    Loved the pictures! I had a Coronado kit on my 53 for several years. Got tired of bumping my head on it every time I opened the trunk. They were popular on the 53's when they first came out.

    BTW,now that Don has been promoted to President of the '54 Ford Club of America I received a promotion on the web site...I am now the site administrator and you being a member there and with your knowledge we need a good tech adviser to handle some of the hot rod oriented questions..shot me a PM here or on the '54 Ford Club of America site.
