Technical 9 inch identification

    Okay so I just got a freebie 9inch Ford Rear end but have no idea what its for? it has several markings on it. the front case has 029 casted on it, and 148. The tag is WEV AT 0A30
    2 75 9 S723A
    I'm considering using this on my model A roadster or I could use this Dana 44 outta of a 1951 Mercury the engine and ****** combo is a 1962 corvette 327 300 with a m21 4 speed any info would help and which rear end would you choose?

    That will probably be a pretty wide rear axle. HRP

    yeah, I'm guessing about a mile wide, and the pinion offset to one side, too.

    2.75 gears will be nice on the highway, but not very good for taking off from a stop with that 4 speed. The merc rear is probably a bit better for that.

    As for how it fits in the car...you have the car, you have some idea what wheels you'll be using, you have a tape measure, see what you think.
