Hello from the uk. I have this 53 coupe coming over next week, got it from another hamb member.
Looks like a nice stock old car, has rebuilt flattie with Merc crank hoping to just use it!
Not looking to do too much, maybe lower a little, maybe some rear skirts-which are the best ones?
    Another other suggestions!
    Thanks
    Ian

Congrats! The car certainly doesn't look like it needs anything! You must be anxious.

Looks like a really nice coupe! I am sure you can't wait to get it. And, sounds like you have a good plan for it. Everything looks better lowered some.

My wife just bought me a pair of skirts for my birthday and she paid $122.00 with the hardware and seal. She purchased the skirts thru Mac's auto, they are made overseas but seem to be made well. Congrats on the car and good luck with her.

Nice car and the skirts will look good on it. Any of those with the automatic drove nicely, the Fordomatic is a great transmission.

Thanks for positive comments and kind welcome
Realise I should have got the skirts shipped with the car as shipping is more than the skirts
Hopefully have the car next week so will post up some more pics

Typical really, it's pretty much the end of car show season here. Might be able to take it to the "goodwood revival" if anyone's heard of that!

    Car is now here!
Apart from the aerial/antenna lock nut missing, all seems ok shipping wise
Paint looks pretty good, will give it a good clean later and make a judgement
Interior is excellent bar one trim in the back below the window is bent
It ran fairly hot(on the gauge) on the journey back from the dock, I know flatheads are prone to that so will have to see
Has quite a bad vibration between 60-70 ( on the clock) feels like a wheel out of balance(hopefully)
Will post some more pics of it when I have it spruced up!!
    Cheers

That's a beautiful car....congratulations! Ahh, nothing like working out the first few kinks after getting a new car. As you mention though, sounds like for the most part things are looking pretty good!

BTW....I've heard of Goodwood. I think on Wheeler Dealers and/or Top Gear or somewhere. Supposed to be quite the show from what I understand. I hope you make it there!

Nice Car! I'm a fan of 53's with a flathead. How hot was it running? Mine runs around 190-200 here in Houston with an outside temperature of 90-100, I've heard 100 degrees hotter than outside is pretty acceptable for the flatty.

Just has the stock gauge which seems to sit just over 3/4. Motor doesn't seem particularly hot and it runs fine. Going to check with previous owner
