bought the mag off a guy just this weekend. its pretty trashed but he gave it to me for 5 bucks. gave me 2 58 rod&customs for 5 bucks also. the rod and custom are truck pictorials and coupe pictorials. no scanner sorry. the article of the roadster is perfect though. 27 body on 32 rails. killer

edit: overlooked the pics already posted sorry
are the pics from the reissue or original. i have the original, if ya care.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't an air-cooled engine such as this have overheating problems in a car?

With a whirring propeller or just the flight airspeed providing airflow the aircraft application will stay cool.

But what about in a car sitting in traffic or perhaps not running quite fast enough on an open highway? [IMG]

In a race car for short-duration use there wouldn't be any big problems.

Cooling fins seemed to work fine for a lot of bikes; that ranger probably only has about 6:1 CR.

Of course, a guy could fab up some cooling tins ala old Beetle, and use a fan to cool the mess.

Dennis, That was Kenny Rasp. He passed away a couple years ago and donated that Ranger powered car, a spare Ranger engine, couple of Indian motorcycles and a bunch of other stuff to the museum at Latimore. The car, engine , and motorcycle are all on display. If you every make it to the Showdown, you'll see all this stuff! :)
