Hot Rods 1932 ford pickup found after years of looking for one

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hb32, Aug 23, 2014.

  1. Depending on when the vehicle was built the hole at the bottom center might just have a plug. I am not that familiar with trucks, they may have all used the plug instead of the dash light switch.

The pull knob on the column drop is for the model "B" 4 cyl starter.
The V8 had a foot switch on the floor board

  5. The later 4 cylinder vehicles also went to the floor starter.

  6. The fenders look the same unless you look carefully. The '33-'34 pickup renders had a small raised area to clear the head of rivets on the front crossmember. From memory it was about 4 inches long, 1 inch wide and raised about 3/8 inch. Another difference, but I don't know how you would measure it, is the location/inclination of the headlight bar pads is slightly different.

You have some pretty high standards for project cars. I had to weld 2 cabs together to get a good one. To my eye that is a hell of a nice Deuce P/U

  9. Not really high standards and probably a little over whelmed on the initial post.
I have had a chance to go over it a little more and like what I see and have.
It has the usual dents and rust areas but overall is good for an unrestored farm truck.
I have no intention of putting it in for a Riddler but at the same time will make it presentable at 40 feet.

  10. Mine looks like that as well

  11. Thanks for your help HRP and need to start tracking down some original stuff that isn`t too shiny.

32 pickup rear fenders are all alone.33-34 pickups will not interchange correctly. The radiator cap is probably the hardest part to find for those trucks.
