how do I remove the engine from a Model A?. I want to keep the transmission connected to it if possible.

I found it worked best to remove the bolts that are holding it in place. I would rather help you, and not make fun of you, but you set yourself up.......
    Could you be more specific?

    Yup.

  6. Post #4 nailed it but left out "rent a cherry picker". I like to pull the engine and transmission as a unit. It is straightforward. Have you asked for help from your local Model A clubs, the Harbor area club or the Orange County club? Also be sure to bag and tag everything you take off.

Here's a photo of how I did it. The trans came out still bolted to the engine. image.jpg

Mostly right, disconnect the torque tube, the brake linkage, emergency brake, exhaust, remove the top of the ******, headlight bar, hood and radiator. Then you can remove the nut on the front motor mount on the bottom of the front cross member and the two bolts on each rear motor mount into the bell housing. The rear mounts will probably hang up and require some prying to get the motor out.

You need a selection of hammers in varying sizes.
