Every once in a while I will park the car and my brake light will stay on. I am guessing it is the break line switch on the master cylinder.. The brake light switch is relatively cheap but if I replace it should I bleed the brakes? Could I clean it instead of replacing it? And of course thanks in advance.

PS The bolt in that hole fix the oil leak. God bless the HAMB and this group.

Nope do it quick...replaced several over the years on old fords. I would make sure your push rod is adjusted properly though. I had the same issue and turned out the fluid wasn't going back to the master till everything cooled down

Replace it, they're dirt cheap. I always had a 2nd one around on the shelf. I don't recall if I had to bleed the system after, you'll find out.

Take a look at the brake pedal where the rod from the master attaches, look to see that its freed up and not binding. It takes a few seconds to pop the rod off the arm for a better look.

As others have said they are cheap to replace, but check the fluid and make sure the system is full. HRP
