A little off topic but I've got a question. I am piecing a 5 window together also how did the aftermarket panels fit on this car? United Pacific? Nice Metal work on the car.
IMO....When these cars are cut that much they lose some shape...sounds dumb, I know. But just look how flat the roof panels look. That sedan is the cat's *** though. I'd like to see this one in person.
The United Pacific parts are great fit so far i have been very impressed with the quality of the parts, If i had the funds i would get a subframe for my own 5 window the detail in the parts is spot on. I haven't seen the doors yet but the sudframe quarters and panel below are great. the roof line does loose some shape a lot of that is all the louvers in the top insert, the back window area on this particular car has a more shape due to where i put the chop seam which is a 1" above the belt line so more of the curved roof area is in the back panel the only reason for doing this is to save a weld seam where the car was pieced back together.
Yep, this was my old Coupe, chopped in the 50's. With bomber seats, it had plenty of headroom and wasn't that bad to drive. Everywhere the new owner shows it (see above post), it get rave reviews. Screw the naysayers.
I do think that you do great metal work. Thanks for posting pics, this car will be brought up in the future.
As always Rex, you do beautiful work. The work on the rear pan is as good as I've ever seen. As for the chop, "to each his own".
Love to see this one at a show sitting next to a stock height one and see which one has the biggest crowd around it. I likes it!
bubba67 that coupe is a great looking car. I think that the roof looks better unfilled like that it helps keep some of the stock roof line in check.
Here ya go Larry ! Rex, it's amazing how similar the builds are, chop, bombers, etc. I love it ! You're doing a great job on yours, keep it up. BTW, I think mine was an 8 1/4" chop.
I am not the tallest person but you better get ready for some bump knots ! That is on your head ! But what to hell cool has a price your car is awesome !
**** it. Lose another inch. It's ALL about attention now, right? 2" windshields are the new flat paint? I'd never do that to a Deuce, but no sweat. It would make a great lakes car. I'd like to see it done in that fashion.
