Event Coverage Stuck in Vallejo Ca.

My ship is down in Vellajo in drydock at Mare island and I need to know what car shows are coming up. We will be here until at least the end of October. Going nuts in this ship yard.

 

Lotsa history there...I'd walk around and get a taste of WWll California. Lots to see, maybe you'll find a drop tank or two.
Look between the old warehouse/office buildings.
Just think...you could have been 'swamped' in Chicago...or some other dismal site.

 

Billetproof is in Antioch on Sept. 20-21 & today (8-30) there is a show in Alviso, CA (1.5 hours south) There's a car event or swap meet pretty much every weekend somewhere in the bay area.

 

Sept. 27th at the Napa Valley Museum at the Veterans Home in Yountville. Check their website.

On Friday afternoons a bunch of rodders go to ****S CAMPER SALES in American Canyon for a great lunch put on by ****, Barbara, and Rick. Close to Mare Island and on the Hiway.

 

Louie vermeil cl***ic sprint car and midget races this weekend at Calistoga !
Usually some very nice vintage cars on display..
I would be there working tech in the infield as part of my USAC duties, but I'm stuck at home fighting kidney stones...no fun at all....

 

Thanks for the replies. I will try to get out to some of the events. Bummer being stuck here with no car but I have been stuck in worse places.

 

Billetproof is one day only Sept. 20.

 

I am planning on taking the liberty van for Antioch. Should be fun. This will make 3 billetproof shows for me this year. All with no car of my own.

there's a guy on the rigging crew working on your ship named Kevin. Think he's a lead man. Ask around for him, he memorizes all the local car shows or else ask him can you look thru his cruising news magazine.

 

October 11th is the show at the legendary
Gene Winfield
in Mojave.

 

I will have to try to look him up. Unfortunately a drive down to Mojave is out.
