Put on a Jeg's house brand intake and Edelbrock 500 cfm carb only to realize the arm where the carb linkage attaches to does not have enough swing and/or is not long enough to allow the carb to open fully. It does not even allow the secondaries to open up.

Is there anyone that has made the stock linkage work? Want to avoid cable conversion.

I tried my damnest to get an Edelbrock 500 to work on my 55 with Cruise O Matic and mechanical kickdown. No dice. A 450 Holley was the fix.

Fingered it out. There was a turn buckle from the pedal linkage connecting it to the rest of the quadrant. Needed more length which raised the pedal height giving it more travel.
