Hot Rods complete running 32 chassis

I saw an add in a restorer magazine today for a complete running restored 32 ford ch***is
I'm a bit worried a street rodder got to it. A hot rodder would have fitted triple carbs, a dropped axle, steel wheels and possibly hydraulic brakes, there's his hot rod. A street rodder will take the body, get out his pile of catalogues and order a new ch***is with 4 bar rear and independent front. Then he'd order a new crate motor and grandpa auto trans. Next he'd pick up the next catalogue to get his gauges, steering column and mounting kit. Then he would order the power steering, air conditioning and electric window kits. He then carefully looks through all his wheel catalogues to find the newest trendiest sparkly wheels he can. All going well the body comes back from the shop where it has been smoothed over so it looks like the ones in the magazines, that just happen to come out of a fibergl*** mould. Finally it gets painted in a bright shiny colour that found on a popular new car and the tan leather bucket seats are fitted, and there's his street rod.
Oh I hope a street rodder didn't get it.

 

If the "street rodder" is going to buy a new ch***is, why does he need the original ch***is?
Sounds to me like you're just trying to stir the pot.
If it upsets you so much, you buy it and save it from such a fate.

I did not realize that's how ALL "street rods" were built. Thanks for setting us all straight .
Count me in as an old man with an automatic also. When you drive your car 10-12000 miles a year it helps
ease my aches and pains.

Speaking strictly for myself:
1959 ~ 2014 = 55 years driving
So .......
55 years of driving 3 speed column shift and 3,4 and 5 speed floor shift cars and trucks
55 years of riding 3,4,5 and 6 speed motorcycles (over 200,000 miles worth, minimum).
15 years driving 7,9,10,13 and 15 speed semi tractor trailers. (several million miles, minimum)
I figure at this point I've shifted enough freakin' gears. Nothing more to prove.
Now I can use my right arm to hug my sweetie, smoke my joke or whatever.
And yes, age-wise I could definitely qualify as a "grandpa", but I think in order to really qualify, you gotta have kids first. Never could see the attraction!

If you are a hot rodder, why are you looking through a restorer magazine? And if you haven't bought it, why haven't you posted the contact details so someone on here can chase/buy it? And if you have bought it then you must be the street rodder that you are so worried about. Please sell me the left over parts! Oh, one last question, why am I wasting time replying to this thread?

 

Not trying to stir the pot. just having politicly incorrect fun. Though I do like old school hot rods and there is something special about old original parts and cars still on the road. But if building cars from catalogues is your thing go to it. Here in aussie it makes registering the car a lot easier if you have original ch***is. A lot more restrictions with repro. They wanted $26,000 for the ch***is.
