A few weeks ago, purchased a 1958 Ford Custom 300 with 223 and 3-in-the-tree. Car needs work but all the parts are there.

I'm looking for ways to get a little more performance out of the 223 for pulling a small vintage trailer ... ~2400 lbs ... but have long standing appreciation for 6-bangers. My first car was a 1962 Ford Falcon with the 170 and 3-on-the-tree.

Aside from just wanting to get things working initially, I'm not sure where I'm going ... hot rod, retro, classic, something else?

For my first purchase, though, I was able to locate and pick up a T86E w/R10 OD that will soon be part of my restoration. Won't do much for trailer pulling but will make driving on the Interstate freeways a lot easier. Just need to acquire all the pieces and parts needed to get the OD part working as intended.

Will keep up my searching and asking questions along the way.

    Thanks!!

In the midst of clean-up, weatherproofing, and all the generator failed. Replaced with 80 amp alternator and all I can say is ... WOW!! What a difference!!
