Is it just my poor ability to use google? Or does one have to piece together the kit. I want to replace the kingpin bushings, drag link ends, tie rod ends etc... Ideally I would just like to buy a whole kit but I only find "Independent front end swap" when I search for a rebuild kit. Thanks folks. You've all been a good help on " the wife's 100 rebuild".
Thanks. This is a dumb question... But do you check the kingpin clearance by grabbing the spindle and try to articulate it from top to bottom? Is that what you are looking for?
Have you confirmed the kingpins need to be replaced? I would invest in a Shop Manual for that truck, it has all the specs and maintenance procedures. Most of this can be acquired locally or through the likes of NAPA or Rockauto Then there's all the specialty parts folks like Macs, National Parts Depot ect ect ect. For King pins if they indeed need replacement, drop the axle, remove the hubs and take that whole ***embly with your new bushing kit to a machine shop and let them do it.
I just want to check them. The tie rod ends and draglink ends are pretty shot. That's some obvious slack right there
I used Dennis Carpenter on my 48 . Good stuff and friendly sales people Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
