So I got a block!! A 235. It has the pan, crank and pistons. So what parts, if any, are interchangeable from my 216? I literally have nothing for this engine haha. Hoping I have some stuff I can use

If you take out two of the rocker arm bolts and install threaded studs, the valve cover will fit.......

You need to find another 235 core for parts. Almost nothing from the earlier 216 will be usable.

By looking up your parts with questions, you'll be able to see, firsthand, what is interchangeable between the 216 and 235 and what is not.

First, you need to determine which 235 you have. LOTS will interchange between the 216 and EARLY 235's, which were basically bored/stroked 216's with a higher deck engine block. (Practically nothing will interchange with the later 235's.)

Check your serial number, and find out which motor you have HERE: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/models/engine.htm

What is wrong with your 216?

    What year is the 235?

    What year is the 216?

Maybe the manifold, depending on year.?
Maybe the distributor depending on year.?

The 216 is a 49, I not sure on the 235. I have to get the numbers off of it. Also if anyone wants this 216 engine you can have it if you pull it. I can't get the crank to turn and I've sprayed it with PB blaster n let it soak but nothin. Up to you. I am in Roseville CA
