I am in the process of building a clone of the AG 55 chevy. I built this to set up in tha garage to look at while working on my clone that is almost a basket case and was wrecked

What was the engine in the true AG '55?

What was it SUPPOSED to be, a 409?

 

my motor is a 396 bored 60 over with big valve heads and a 4 speed .not sure of the gear for the rear end yet. getting ready to cut the fender wells and radius them .

 

I am getting some work done on the car, the brakes are almost done and I am working installing the radiator. a few years ago I would have had more work done to it. I guess I am slowing down as I get older.
