What the heck ?? Patent date 1947? Interesting whatchmajig-it......and no worries with Texas emission testing circa 1968........that didn't exist.

  3. That patent writing is a bit too small for me to read on my phone. Is it emissions related then?

Also, that's a shame that big blocks weren't allowed in CA. You guys missed out on lots of fun! :)

  4. Someone writes it and you believe it?

Did it not work as intended? I guess if it improved efficiency it would be on every thing by now.

Plenty of big blocks in California. That thing is an add on.....just like the 100 mpg carburetor or the magnets on the fuel line that increase mpg.

I read through it, seems like a snake-oil device. Lets air into the manifold when it has below ambient pressure. This is supposed to allow it to pull air into the cylinder during valve overlap rather than exhaust.

From reading the paper that came with the one on Ebay the "inventor" was quite the ******** artist. Another one of those alledged performance or mileage enhancing trinkets that were sold in the backs of magazines or by JC Whitney or Pep Boys in that time frame.

Believe it or not there's one of those trumpets for sale on eBay right now. Ebay item # 221553736822. Say's it does great things for your engine.

  16. My uncle sold those things back in the 1950's along with VX-6 for your batteries and SA fire injectors that replaced your regular spark plugs. None of them did anything other than make your wallet slightly thinner.

I figured it was a factory part they were testing out. That 1947 is a trip. Figured it would be much later than that like the mid sixties. I also figured there would be another one on the other manifold to be more uniform. Any way you look at it it is strange & not omething seen every day.

I don't tell many people about this as the big oil conglomerates will seek me out... but one of these devices along with magnets on the fuel line, a tornado fan on the air intake, water injection, and you can actually create more fuel than you burn.
