you would have to check with a machine shop , but i think the axles and rotors could be re-drilled 4-3/4" bolt circle
...And, if you are here in the western states, I HIGHLY recommend that you contact John, box them up and send them to him to be done!!!
Not in the states, clue is in the name. I've been doing a bit of research & I've been told it's not a mustang, it's a ford truck rear due to the fact that the wheel bolt hole pcd are bigger than Chevy 3100. Half shafts have been drilled to chevy 3100 but the Chevy disc won't seat onto the half shaft, the diameter of the half shaft needs to be reduced about 1/4" unless there's another way. (Ignore the temporary bolts in the picture)
What vehicle is it in; what is width, flange to flange, how wide is the housing, what is the housing end bolt pattern? Already Chevy 3100 pattern, what year and bolt pattern? Could it already be GM 4.75" pattern? 28 or 31 spline axle shafts, solid or ventilated discs? F100 axles flanges were larger bolt pattern that those look like. IMHO there's no enough meat to safely redrill another pattern. Easier to weld up holes, machine and redrill. Appears that nothing fitted if discs have to be machined to fit over axle shoulder. What are caliper brackets, Explorer, Lincoln Versailles? I would check PCD and then redrill axles if necessary, then do similar to discs and open up centre so it fits over axle flange. Also will the calipers then fit, hopefully the bracket with align?
9" axles can be bought with any pattern, Currie offers them up to 6 on 5.5" they aren't horribly expensive and Im a cheapskate Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
The calipers & brackets are mustang2. Disc is solid .The half shaft or flange has already been redrilled so they are ok. I don't want to machine out any material off the inside of the disc to go over the flange incase it weakens it.
Just checked its 31 spline & the new holes are 4 3/4" pcd. old original are 5 1/2". Possibly wrong disc, are there more discs with 4 3/4" bolt pattern? I don't think the calipers will line up with the bracket if I move the disc further in. These discs look like they maybe for a vehicle with a parking brake shoe inside. They are solid 3/8" thick. Any idea what vehicle they came from? Thanks
I have been doing some research regarding brakes, axles etc. for my truck so I have this link saved right now. I'm sure there are others out there that can provide blank rotors if that what's your needing http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/categoriesre.aspx?id=1010 Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. Why not use the Ford rotors and calipers, then have the bolt pattern changed on the rotors? Then at least you would know all the brake parts work together. Gene
That's what I'm hoping Gene, but I need to know what model they are from & make sure the dimensions are correct. Thanks Apache I'll have a look
Holden HJ thru HZ (Aussy GM) disc rear end had 5" X 4 3/4" solid discs, with hand brake in the centre, like the one in your pic.. Don't think they imported them into the UK tho.. Have you got any mates in Australia ??
Do you have a company in USA who supplies rotors & has info like this- http://www.blackdiamondperformance.com/pdf/disk_measurements_07_05.pdf
Someone here on the HAMB sells a fixture to re-drill drums, rotors, shafts YOURSELF. I forget who it is, but someone will know. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
I thought it was a common thing to fit a type 9 axle onto a 3100! I'm gonna have a measure up & see if I can find a suitable rotor
