Its in a junkyard - can be had cheap - what would someone pay for it - really rough - just let it die? take the motor?

Interesting car in that there is no back seat area! It's paneled over. Maybe a modified coupe body or reworked convertible...hard to tell, but I don't recall a Caddy "Roadster" option, like the later T-birds with the fibergl*** fairing on the rear seats.

Given the iconic status '59 Cads held for some time, I would think SOMEBODY would want this for bits and pieces. Not me, but somebody....;)

Go to a Barrett-Jackson auction and buy one restored for less than it would cost just to get the pieces needed to put that one back on the road. There probably is someone looking for the engine for an A coupe or a Studeillac project.

That would make a nice cruiser especially if it is cheap. If nothing else you have a whole parts car. We don't find anything older than the 80s here.

Judging by the width of the rear deck panel, that car started out as a 2-door hardtop that was made into a parade car. Looks like the frame is possibly bent from being picked up by a forklift and no structural support the roof would have given it.

Probably best used for parts, given its poor condition.

It is a convert - the stainless around the back is still there - the tonneau cover is super crude and made with steel plate - I dont think the original top frame, etc is there lots of rust, etc....its in the junkyard for a reason (price of s****?)LOL - just didnt want to see it go if it could be saved/was worth it to get

  8. If it's a real convertible and it's cheap, it's flippable. Top mechanism is the same for all 59-60 GM convertibles, so it's not impossible to find. Given the big money these bring all done, there is a good shot someone will restore it. I've sold worse ones - I had a '60 convert that they carried the body away in pieces and left behind the frame. And they paid $2200 for what they did take. This one looks like it would at least roll and steer to load on a trailer.

I mean, put it this way, if it was in my backyard, it would already literally be in my yard and be posted on eBay, if it can be had for s**** price or close to it.

I doubt the frame is bent, it's an X-frame, but the body is likely rotted enough that with no support under the rocker panel picking it up bent it upwards a little.

  9. Where is this place? I see you're in Western M***

  10. I might be interested in the motor if its the original 390

I see enough there to part out, sure, but I also see a fairly complete convertible. Either way it's worth saving from the crusher for short money.

If you can get it cheap I would. If its a real convertible its worth a few bucks to somebody. I lurk on eBay quite a bit and am constantly amazed at what Cadillac convertible s sell for even in total **** log beat *** punk **** status.

  15. Certainly worth saving the steering wheel, fins and engine.

It sure looks worth s**** or more if someone has someplace to keep it to sell or build a driver.
I've seen a whole lot worse sold as projects.

When I look at that car I see a bubble top custom in the making ! :D With a little slicing and dicing it would really make a cool 60's show car kinda like what Plowboy built. Those fins are terrific.

It would be a sin to let her get crushed. Even grafting it to a lowered truck frame and drive train as a rat rod would be better than crushing.

Can they sell you a whole car out of a wrecking yard complete with a ***le in M***? In many states it's gone forever once it is in the yard.

If you can get it cheap, hope the engine isn't toast and put it back into running/driving condition.
Can you do the body work yourself?
