Nice! Those catfish mouthed cars are so ugly they're lovable.

But I was thinking....could any of the information contained in this thread be potentially damaging to Mr. McBride's legal troubles? Just a thought...I'm no lawyer type

I am glad to hear that. I was not suggesting that was your plan, just expressing my thoughts in case you were on the fence. Its your car so its your choice what you do with it. By the way the wheels on these cars were a one year only thing with Studebaker. They are 14 inchers on 4 1/2 lut pattern, not the 15s that were used in other years. The rear window is the same as the Studebaker Golden and Silver Hawks.
They are available so no big deal.
If you look at my car on the website you will see that I am running WWW Radials from Diamond Back Tires. They have been great so far.
    Mike :)

Just so there is not cunfusion for anybody out there THIS PACKARD HAWK WILL NOT BE CUT UP IN ANY WAY. Stock restored engine, stock restored body and stock restored interior with the original wheels and hub caps removed and stored. Only upgrade planned is a nice set of wheels and modern tires. If I can pick up the other cars I talked about earlyer, then maybe i'll think about building a rod of some type. My car does infact have ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL PARTS ....EXCEPT for the rear window, after I got all of the dust washed off I found a BB hole and one crack going right up the middle of the gl***. Thanks for the link Mogul, its helped out a lot, once the pics are developed and loaded up I'll forward you them.[/QUOTE]

Bummer about the yard, how can they treat people like that!? But nice score on your part. This yard has been there for ever, can you imagime what the soil is gonna look like when they break ground to build that first house! Not where I would wana live! (up from the ground came a bublin crude!)

  9. Hell, maybe if they strike an oil deposit they'll abandon the whole plan and let him keep the place.....im sure they'll have to get ecologists out there to so get an estimate on reclaiming the land after all this time exposed to petrolium products.

Someone who actually follows current events! I salute you! The Supreme Court handed down that negative decision fairly recently. Eminent domain has been fought over before and will be again. They will probably reverse themselves eventually, after the crooked developers and politicos get their money of course.

Even tho this is a really old post and as tragic as it is that the entire lot of cars is now gone, I thought some of you might be interested in some of what WAS in this yard in the past. I had taken these pictures in the mid 80's and just now found them stored in an obscure place . I have no scanner hooked to my computer so I snapped digital pics , wish the quality was better.
