One block from motel. left turn from side street. after stop, engine bogs on shift from first to second, chirp with no mark left on the street less than 15 MPH. 373 gears/ 4 speed/ posi rear - mid range corn fed gas - 9 year old tires. Turn into motel parking space - get ticket - two guys for an audience - they were silent strangers. You would have had the same thing happen if you were the driver. I hope you can drive absolutely flawless at the ROG if you see the police swarming around. just sayin.

A p***able friend of mine is Lou Costello and popular local DJ. He is very tight with mayor Triano on the island and He tells me the Mayor sits in pins and needles each year, even though he is a car guy, because a few years ago some ***** in a stock VW Jetta lit a one wheel tire fire in front of Schellengers restaurant and ran ove rthe curb, sending folks running and the building damaged. Until then the cops didn't care about minor infractions, now they do. The liability we live under these days is staggering and every som***** wants to sue for everything. They are just covering their ***es for the first time somebodys lawyer thinks there's two bucks in it for them. This is not the only show where the cops are getting tough.

I didn't make it this year just because I'm so busy in the shop but I'll be there next year and I'll also let the Chamber and Hotel/Motel ***ociation know that a return to the old ways would do wonders for attendance. Nothing would make me happier than the show getting back to the way it was before the drama.

I don't like heavy handed ******** from cops either but when they have to answer to their bosses about the stuff in this video, I guess they just get fed up and then they take it out on everyone. The same thing happened at the Ocean City Md. show. If you notice though, most of the offenders are not even registered for the show and they are driving late model stuff. The 5.0 Mustang crowd seems to be especially vunerable to this stupidity.

Last year at Trog the only time the cops showed was when the Pagans rolled in. Then there was cops everywhere. Those guys rolled out and so did the cops. No one was doing big silly burnouts. or getting out of order. Was a great time.
I hope it is the same this year!

I hope the Police don't drown out a unique event like the Trog. I just got home as we usually stay a few extra days to enjoy the flat bicycle riding and beach time. I will probably leave the cars home next year and just enjoy the ones who still come. I figure we spend at least $700 on our extended weekend trip that is spread out buying Gas, Rooms and Food as well as a few souvenirs (Beach Chair and a couple event shirts). Running over in the wife's DD will keep us invisible and save on gas anyhow.
