Just found a '32 sedan that had been sitting in a North Dakota barnyard for the past 20 or so years. It has a tree growing up through it. The owner has cancer and wanted to sell. The body seems to be good with no rust through, but the front fenders are dented and torn. The two rears seem to be OK. There is no radiator shell or radiator, but the flathead is there, what shape I don't know, but most likely seized. No interior but it looks like it was converted to juice brakes. It has disk rims. 3w Larry should show up any time. He is usually the one with little patience when no pictures are posted. Frank
I don't know about Larry but my patience is wearing thin,,,we need photographic proof! I'll just play Devils advocate and stir the pot a little. HRP
I know, I know, everyone's looking for pics. I'll try to get some today. It's a pretty big tree so I'll have to be careful getting it out (no, I can't keep it to drive around with...). I'm psyched because the body looks good, fenders maybe no, and it has a flathead in it which may be the original, but we'll see. I can see that the intake manifold is broken (it's aluminum). but I don't know much about flatheads, so can't tell the year. He also threw in a 59A-B with transmission. Hopefully one will be rebuildable. Now I've got to: (1) get pics, (2) get the tree out, and (3) get it to phoenix. Ultimate goal: Brookville roadster body on the '32 frame with a later flathead. Hopefully this will all pan out. Ned
Did I miss something here? You are getting a 32 Sedan from North Dakota, once a tree is removed from the interior, load it up and ship it to Phoenix,, throw away the body and then put a Broodville roadster on the frame, with a different flathead.
Yeah, I also have a original 32 out of Michigan with an old Ford growing in it. But seriously let me know when you go to throw the Sedan body in the garbage for a shiny new Brookville. I still need a junky old Henry body for my next 40s project "hubba hubba", Wyatt. "Listen Mr... It ain't broke if I can't fix it"
I would be interested in trading you for a nice rolling ch***is with a flathead. That would save you a lot of work and get you on the road quicker in your BV coupe.
Who says 32's don't grow on trees. I'd rather have a sedan than a roadster myself. With all the wood you sure it's not a Chevy?
HOTRODPRIMER, I can see where it was welded back together after it was put around the tree....FRAUDE, FRAUDE, FRAUDE........but a heck of a great idea........I like it!
You may want to keep the tree for raw material to fabricate some of the wooden structural parts. How is the woodgraining holding up?
