I have a set of Full Moon hubcaps on my truck, but they are just pop on hubcaps. I seem to remember seeing images of more serious race style full moons that had securing bolts. Often they were in use on the salt flat racers. Does anyone know what the official name or maker of these are? sorry for being vague... i always just knew them as "full moon hubcaps"
I have heard them called Moon discs, racing discs, and salt flats discs. The term "full Moon cap" is also used to refer to curved, full wheel caps similar to single bar flippers minus the bar.
SCTA requires either 3 dzus style attachement points or 6 machine grade screws with 'full wheel covers'. They are not the pop on hub caps. They are just a dish of aluminum that you have to mount to your rims. If you go with the dzus style you will need the pre punched discs and you need the mounting tabs welded to your rim. Moons has been the supplier for ever and they have covers with the dzus holes and cutouts for tab placement. Contact Chico, he is a Land Speed Record Holder.
