Here's y'all a non-Ford, but shoebox-style, station wagon...a '52 Dodge Coronet Sierra four-door. I got the car out of a pasture down near Big Spring. It's essentially complete, missing little more than the radio, stock taillights, and four or so pieces of bright moldings. The rear seat, folded down for many years, is in pretty decent condition. The engine is the 230 flathead six, hooked to a fluid drive three-speed manual. I haven't got a look at it from the underside, but the body looks pretty sound. The wheel bolt pattern threw me off...5 on 5 1/2, same as early Fords...but caused no problem. Although I took spare wheels and tires, every tire on the car inflated and held air. All have tubes, and the rims were below ground level.

Boy, do I hate you guys out west. If that was here, you wouldn't need a trailer, just a shovel and a garbage bag! Nice find, love the old MoPaR wagons.-MIKE
Man - you've had all kinds of luck with wagons this year. Congrats - and I agree, count your blessings, a garbage bag and a shovel sounds about right for us brethren up north.
Nice find! There's a guy in Tulsa that has (last I saw) a nice '53 or so two door Plymouth wagon with an early Hemi in it. He was asking about 2400 for it which I thought was pretty good.
Youse probably hate this kind of post but.... I saw similar wagon p*** by on the street in Gilroy, Ca. a little while ago. It was yellow (I'm pretty sure) and a 2 door (I think). Nothing wild but nicely done, sounded like a '6' with straight pipes. Yeah I like wagonsand '6"s so there...
Cool, My uncle had a two door with a Chrysler 6 and Compound 4 speed out of a Dodge truck that he used to take up in the hills hunting. A nice solid and great riding old wagon.
Yeah, 'ya know how sometimes interesting stuff p***es on the street and 'ya can't remember if was real or did 'ja just imagine it. That time was like that....
The wheelbase is 10' 3 1/2 ", and the overall length is 16' 11". The shipping weight was 3,735 pounds. You're right...looks like that was Dodge's first post-war station wagon. That body style, for some reason, didn't appear during the '50-'52 model years.
my day has a stock 53 plymouth plaza wagon with overdrive. Gets good mileage cruses right along and is really comfortable. We drove from northern ca. to reno the right after he got it which was only a week or two after it came out of the garage in twenty something years. Really great car you'll have fun brent
