Just putting windshield into car when I noticed brackets were not long enough to lineup with brackets on pillar stud. Did model a's have different versions of windshield frames? The one I got did not come with car body

Brackets on windshield frame are different between 28-29 and 30-31. Windshield frame brackets can have the rivets cut and brackets removed and new one riveted on quite easily. Brackets are available from Model A repro vendors. Make sure they carry the two different styles and order the one to fit your body.

If you are using a 30-31 body, the diverter baffle along the bottom of the windshield has to be trimmed at the ends also to clear the body.

  3. Correct about the years and the trucks used different ones too (also closed VS open car too).

Hey 1oldtimer, just out of curiosity, what is the difference between the car and truck windshields?

Didn't see anything on Marco's site when I was trying to find out why my windshield didn't fit. Was suppose to be a 30-31 but turned out to be a 28-29.

Thanks Loldtimer, hadn't seen that write up.

Looks like there if the potential that the basic frame is the same (he mentions the lower frame being the same and the gl***), Swing arm brackets like a 28-29, deflector like a 28-29 later being changed to 30-31 style, top hinge is a unknown. Potential to be a good donor.

  7. If you want to be real **** the closed car windshield frame I posted a picture above ('28/'29) is a '29. The deflector is angle cut on '29 and straight in '28.
