1951 Chevy Styleline Deluxe Coupe G***er style (not 100% period but close) running 15" out back and can go 14 or 15" up front. What Radial (vintage look) tires would you recommend 90% street 10% strip. Running about 450 hp. No arguments just some advise please
I couldn't find any that looked right, and would also work well with my blown 427. so I sprung for bias tires. I'd forgot how bad the handling is...but it's livable. 6.00-15 Silvertowns up front, Coker L78-15 out back for the street, and I swap to M&H 7" slicks for racing. I've used drag radials too, they look quite wrong, but work great as far as handling and traction at the strip. The Coker bias ply tires hook much better on the street than normal street radials do. Might want to consider that.
go to Towel City Tires website and look around. Look at Vintage Tires, look at Asphalt Tires. I bet you will find something you can afford that provided the look and performance you desire. Great folks to deal with, too. Call them if you wish to get questions answered.
Radials just don't look right on a g***er, put some tall skinny bias plys (6.70 - 15) up front and some towel city pie crusts out back.
I had radials up front and Radir Cheater slicks on back. Rubys in Redondo by G***ersGarage posted Aug 13, 2010 at 6:21 PM
