Theres a '39 in a barn about a mile and a half from my house in very nice survivor type shape. I've only shown it to one guy (who I know wont blab about it) I'm going to stop by there soon and test the waters.

I have always liked them since my buddy built a '37. then he built his 36 5 window Terraplane to resemble the Lincoln. It has skirts on it now.

Yep, Terry Cook's "S****E" was a 'glas body...check out some of the mags for an ad...think they are built back east...

Hey Rikster...that "sedan/coop" in blue w/primer...what did they call those body styles?

Plowboy: after seeing the build-up on that coop...I'm amazed how straight it is...tons of body work there and to get it flat...WOW!!!

I believe this one was made from a four door. They lenghned the front doors on it and welded the rear doors.

Terry's 'S****e' I believe was an original steel car built at Ram's Rod Shop In Dover, DE.
After S****e gained poularity, gl*** bodies were produced by Deco Rides to match the style of Terry's. Please correct me if i'm wrong..

Maybe I stand corrected then (the rod-ster backs you up, 59Elky)...could have sworn I read somewhere that Cook's was a 'glas body...hmmmmmm...

Rikster, thanx for that info...never would have known that was a modification...

Cook's car comes in a coupe version, a converible, AND a sedan delivery ( I really dig the phantom delivery version!)! All in gl***.
59 Elky is right, Ramsey Mosher built the original S****e from 2 different year Zephyr's.

    Hey,

Those '39 Lincoln Zephyrs were the stock from which the '40 Lincoln
Continental became. Lincoln built 404 1940 Continentals from Zephyr
parts and frames. The same seasoned hands, who built all those big
Lincoln K series cars in the Lincoln shop, took a Zephyr and sectioned
the cowl and doors four inches. The hood and front fenders were stre-
tched twelve inches longer than the Zephyr's stock measurements.
These cars were called the Lincoln-Zephyr Continental for 1940. For
1941, they became known as just Lincoln Continentals. Lincoln didn't
spring for production tooling, to build bodies, until 1946.

Those Zephyrs are very nice. Thanks for the pics. If someone has the back half of a '36 Zephyr, I've got the front half - sort of.

A friend of mine was offered to paint Terry's 'S****e' back then (1995-97?). He had to turn it down because he already had plenty of projects in the shop from other customers. He didn't know the recognition the car would bring at that time. It was just another project car to him I guess.

I'm 99% sure I saw that Zephyr at the Pomona Swap meet last weekend. It was for sale Too! Had to have belonged to a HAMBer.
