Let's try this again with pictures. I have been coming across some old racers from the past. I did find one that I am interested in, but not sure on buying it. Maybe I can get some advice. The car is a chopped/channeled steel 32, raced in the 1970s. No famous car here, just a guys weekend toy. Same current owner that raced it. It has a 454 BBC, 400 trans, Pontiac rear, old Speedway tank, finished interior, small cage, slicks on old Halibrands, runs good. Paint is original good, wheels are dusted, musty from sitting, no dents or dings, a little surface rust on suspension parts. No ***le, Bill of Sale. Pictures from it's race days show it with the same paint scheme and wheels (only polished). So what is the market on old 32 drag cars? Are they desirable or is interest dropping? I see a bunch of 32s for sale online, not too many sold. 32 cl***ic steel hot rods are pretty expensive, 60K, 70K, 80K... This is no show car, rather a real racer and a bunch cheaper. It does have the "cool effect". The stance is good and the looks is 70s. It might be streetable with a little work. How tough would it be to get a 32 Coupe ***le for the car? Any thoughts? Value?
That looks like a rusty POS...are you sure you want to tackle this as a project, or are you looking for a quick flip...seems it needs a ton of work to make it presentable again
Its worth buying, but as far as pricing you are buying a body and a few parts. It would need a complete rebuild for the street.
That's a heavy channel job, make sure you fit comfortably in it before spending any money on it (unless its a buy and flip). Oh, that quarter elliptic rear suspension is definitely an odd choice.
Yes or low 20s with cash. A lot of unknowns on that ch***is and lower body. Any pics with door closed or front 3/4?
Here is a photobucket gallery. http://s1240.photobucket.com/user/VintageRod/library/1932 Ford Coupe Over the years a few modern things were added, electric fan, upgraded distributor. It was raced for a while. Square port heads, roller cam and rockers. Old M/T valve covers still in the garage, but wouldn't fit with rockers.
