1953 Mercury Monterey with original running, driving flathead & 3 on the tree manual transmission. This car is a blast to drive. A hotrod from the factory. No leaks, no smoking, No overheating. This car has had quite a bit to ensure its reliability. New fuel tank, Drum brakes completely rebuilt, New ignition, New battery, New oem fuel pump, New water pump, New generator, Radiator restored, Good tires (although the po made his own white walls). The body is nearly rust free. There are few (3) dime sized bubbles behind the p***enger front wheel. Its is the middle of the panel. some light surface rust. Original black paint. Po applied some sort of clear coat in attempt to preserve the paint. The clear coat is uneven and wearing. Polished pieces are all there and excellent. The chrome is all there but needs rechrome. No through rust and looks ok when car is moving. Interior is brand new red vinyl pleated seats with black piping. Just paid $900 from Lebaron Bonney. New Black, period correct carpet. just needs to be installed. Have hog rings and pliers. Needs headliner and door panels. Could be done pretty quick and cheap. This is a nice solid car. Not a rusted out piece of junk. Runs and drives great. Only maintenance that needs to be done is to rebuild carb. It leaks a little bit. I hate to sell but need the money more.
