    Hey Everyone,

I'm finally joining the H.A.M.B. after many months of reading through the technical threads and the build threads. I am amazed at the craftsmanship and technical skill, not to mention the p***ion for all things traditional, shown by so many of the members here.

As a quick introduction, my experience so far has been with modern drag cars and I have a later model (mid 80s) European car set up as a street/track compromise. (I promise this is the one and only time I will mention these OT vehicles). My interest in the traditional rod has increased over the past couple of years and I appreciate how these vehicles allow the mechanical details to become the focal point of a build.

I want to thank you all for the help you have already provided, and I look forward to learning so much more.

Welcome also from Manitoba. If you need any help in locating local parts I have a few guys I've been dealing with over the years

Hi 48 Stylemaster, sorry about the late reply. Thanks for the local welcome to the HAMB!

I managed to dig out a 30 tudor from the woods of NW Ontario a few weeks ago. I'm not sure what direction I will take on the build (I'm going blind reading all the model A threads on this site). Once I know what I need I'll definitely message you for some possible contacts.

Do you know of any good local machine shops that have experience with flatheads? I have talked to Millar in Winkler, but I have never worked with them.

Thanks again, good to see some other Manitobans on the site! haha

Yeah I've dealt with Millar in Winkler a few times. Everything he's worked on for me is still on the road today. I got a 14hp koler bored over and valves changed. Heads done on a 460 ford and got a 429 built by him. Nice work and even nicer equipment. His machines have tighter tolerances than factory equipment. I have been doing the reasembly myself as I am a mechanic by trade.
