Thought I would share a few pretty rare gems in the works for your viewing pleasure. 1932 ford roadster build , using an original Ray Dietrich http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietrich_Inc. Packard windshield. A guy I know has restored a few original Packards and has in the works a 1932 ford roadster using a Dietrich original for windscreen. This is what might have happened in production back in the day with the two (Ford/Dietrich) collaborating for the need. -At the lest we are fortunate to see it come together at this time 82 years later. Thanks for letting me snap a few photos of the progress. Enjoy - this is a fine dining experience!.
NOPE..just another casting that was reworked to fit a 32 cowl. NO PACKARDS WERE HURT during this experiment
Damn. So you know I have to ask.......are these castings made per need? Or are they readily available? I realize the stupidity of the second question.....so thank you for probably soon noting as such.
This windshield was an original Packard. REWORKED to a 32 cowl. There is a partial channeling and understructure ,not just bolted to cowl top. the Gent I know has had Packard parts for a life time and this windshield didn't have a home (orig car). So what to do. fab and mount it to a 1932 ford. -So there is no Reproduction available. this is the real deal , made to fit. That is the only reason I posted cause I believe it is very unique, 1 off and 32 ***y. Complements to the craftsman.
Lol...just noticed your posting location. Chernobyl. ? ! Dunno' if you had thoughts of attempting to duplicate what you have there. Molding/casting/etc. You could probably sell a bunch of those....radioactive or not. That's beautiful. I like the upper corner treatments of it the best. Always thought the typical(can I even call them that?) split cowl wind screens lines were a bit much for top treatments....and definitely not as refined as what you have there. Very nice.
