I just made a couple of signs and trying to come up with old school garage names for a sign. I just used the town I live in and the Flying A. I was going to bring to Hershey, but a fellow HAMBer came by today and liked the Flying A and bought it. Anyway know a cool old Garage name?

Wish I could see what name is above that Garage sign hanging off that building.

Yes sir, it's Blackburn's Service Station and Carlot. 822 Seymour Street circa 1928....unreal the service definition then huh? It's on Flickr's City of Vancouver Archives. Nerd central maybe...but it's cool for me. Hope I didn't mess up your thread. I love your posts as you already know. Take care.

That is more like it! Thanks

  22. While you're researching names, have a look at typestyles too. All the old signs were hand lettered. The computer-generated fonts and dingbats stand out like modern rims on a Model A.
