Al;not sure what Ken has going,I know he is very unhappy with his current engine builder [a BIG name FE guy],everything appears to work OK right now! Building a 'RACE' FE with BIG power,is a whole different world, only a few builders that specialize in them! ROY.

    Don't feel bad Al:

I bought mine when I was 18,and the first time it made a dragstrip pass was this summer...lol!

And even then it was still a duct tape and baling wire piece of junk...!lol!

It's coming together ok though....last trip to the track netted a 13.12@101.8 with my little $200 junk motor:)

    Scott

Well I'm pushing hard for a finished car within 5 months Max. And it is looking possible, just a matter of stars in line, have most of what I need, no converter, drive-shaft, radiator things that need done once package is assembled. Like I told Roy, should be out of paint prison 1st week of Nov. just need to keep Horse in front of the Cart.:)Thanks also for telling your time frames, I see I'm not alone.............Al

  9. Bought my rolling shell November 2011. Raced it at the hotrod reunion in Bakersfield October 2012! It was never perfect or a show car, but got me out racing and learning

And you really did a good job Mike, one day I'll go through my deal from start to finish, it just couldn't be done any quicker on my income without going in debt, I just go without and save but its fun and will be worth the effort, it already is, I have learned so much, not just about cars but about how good life is, the friends I've made along the way including online, sharing what we learn, it's all good...................Al

  11. Much smarter way than I, I just charged it to about 9k, on a zero percent card and paid it off over the next year. Yours is a much nicer build though, thus the cost is more. Being in debt like that sucks, I don't recommend it.

If you don't mind sharing where you had them done I like another idea on who to send my set to. I've sent different parts all over the country with mixed results.

His name is Dave Cole from Detriot area! He has done much for me, a excellent prep man with pot-metal. Xpensive but good! I can send his number if you wish? I've only used him and Advanced Plating in TN., his turn around was 3x faster.......Al

So far, unfortunately, I've found that "Xpensive" has been the operative word. If it is good it is worth it. Sadly there is a lot out there that isn't. I haven't figured out how to pm on this site but I would appreciate the number.
    Thanks, Jess
