Right now $1.00- $1.25 a mile is a good rule of thumb.

I just had a car shipped and had a hard time getting them to stick to the agreed pick-up and delivery schedule. It seems every time they dropped off a car they wanted to quickly fill the space, even if it meant constantly getting farther and farther from me. I would get some "no later than" dates for pickup and delivery in writing before you start. Also, watch out for people who are nothing more than brokers looking to make a quick buck finding you a driver, yet don't really care after that.

  8. Do you have a truck and/or a trailer that you can take one to California ?

If you have a truck that will accomodate a U-Haul trailer,
that might be the solution to moving one.

You can post up in the ' Wanted ' section of the cl***ifieds,
you might find someone headed that way for a visit or holiday.

    Kansas hauls are tough ...

Not much demand to haul into that state,
usually folks are full from points east when they drive thru along I-70.

In about (3) weeks Winter will starting kicking in,
the 2015 Old Farmers Almanac is predicting a similair winter
as bad or worse in some parts of the country as last year ....

I-70 can be a sheet of ice some days (as I am sure you know).

I am dropping this 1919 Model T PU in Hays, KS in a couple days,
then headed back to Denver to pick up & deliver to Wisconsin ...

Then it looks like back to Denver again from Wisconsin to pick up
    and head to Florida ....

I came close to running out to Denver to get my Ford myself, would have ran me about $3500 with the flight (would have taken my son) and the u-haul truck and trailer, which was $1300 alone. Could have been a fun road trip.

  10. If it is practical & the vehicle will make the trip,
a road trip is always the best way to go ....

    Nothing beats memories ....
