Hey again. Could we try one more time? I have Been in the shop to measure how much it is possible to lower my styleline. I took some pictures, where i have made a blue line at 3" lower. Can Any of you make a Photoshop with the pictures of the hole car, where the valance meets the blue line. Hope you know what i mean. The wheel with "spider caps" are the front wheel.

Go to Photoshop.com and see what they have. I did the same a few years ago, got a 30 day free trial and ended up buying the program. Its lots of fun, but you gotta be serious about learning it if you want to get decent results.
If you go to my Photoshop album, you can see my rather crude first attempts. Like anyone, the first stuff ain't pretty, but practice makes better, and more practice makes more better. Go for it and good luck!

I use Gimp. It's not quite Photoshop but it does the job and it's free.

Yes Photoshop offers a free trial for 30 days for the new CC version.

I've retired last year from the university here where I taught photoshop for over 25 years so I'm not current on the newest changes but I would send students there for the trial version. Unfortunately Adobe has gone to the renting software in essence where you only get a years license when you buy it and have to pay more every year after. It’s a common thing now in software.

If you like it and decide to buy, my advice would be to go for an earlier version like CS5. For what I’ve been seeing here in this post it will do all and more of what you need. Google Photoshop CS5 cheap. I’ve seen it for as low as $243.

Craige’s list may be another source. Try http://www.searchtempest.com and put in your zip and search for CS5.

Do any of you have some ideas to make this VW look a little more cool? No big consuming, just a little more fun. Preferably with an old school touch:cool:

I dig old VeeDub's too, but the HAMB isn't the place for them. Not trying to be the HAMB police, but it will get reported (not by me) and deleted. Try The Samba.

This is about as close as I've got within broad bounds of HAMBliness, from earlier in this thread:

The idea is that it's front-engined but uses a lot of the VW floorpan structure.

Okay, sorry. I was just moved by sentiment.

  21. Wondering how the previous rendering would be if I left it unchopped but with the same custom touches done to it please :) 100_1889 (Medium).JPG kustom red.jpg

What you have there is my avatar except for the color and the spots. You've got a good eye for style! LOL

Curious if someone could Lower this a few inches, and throw some bigger whitewalls on it. I just picked up a 1956 Buick Wagon project to build my wife now that mine is finished. She wants to paint hers this minty green like this car and lowered with big white walls! Thanks!!!

    Here is a quick one.
    Wide whitewalls, lowered.
Added wire wheels and extra porthole (ventiport), just 'cuz it's a Buick!

  26. themoose, I know you did my car before however I made some changes and would like to see it with steelies, trim rings and moons in maroon color. The complete chassis and firewall in maroon, body in a light gloss gray including the head lights. Keep the roof and grille in black, and a three deuce set up on the engine. And if it's not to much trouble I would like to see it reversed with the body in maroon and chassis in gray. Thanks in advance for all your great work.

Those wires look to be 18-inchers, at least. Just be aware that her wagon would look a little different with 15" wires.

Not knocking the work (which looks terrific). Just making sure expectations are met. :)

  28. How about a VW a little something more along the lines of a traditional custom....After all this is Art and Inspiration.
