I'm not a great photographer, don't even try, but I didn't see anything up on the HAMB about the customs at TROG. So I'll throw in some I took. I hope some of the other guys taking pics put up some better ones to showcase what a good event this turned out to be! First off, a BIG thanks to Sondre, and Olav for doing all the work to put this on, and to Mel for setting this in motion! Hopefully it was a success for them, I know it was for us participants, and they'll do it again next year!
Kustomrama brothers put Kopper kart clone at entre-good choice.... and yes, more pics Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thanks for posting these up, Mark! I'd like to echo Mark's sentiments and give an emphatic "Thank you!" to Sondre and Olav for their efforts putting this show together and to Mel for everything. The Customs by the Sea show was a perfect compliment to TROG, so everybody is truly represented and everyone can enjoy different types of cars without it taking away from the other. We went back and forth between the Customs show and the beach all weekend and it was an absolute blast. So much fun in fact that I forgot to take pictures! I'm looking forward to doing it again next year!
Oh...the Kopper Kart won the "Custom D'Elegance" award! Thanks again Sondre! Does anyone know who got the "Kustoms Illustrated Choice" award?????
What a blast this weekend! I was in heaven at that show (and race, parties, etc). Can't thank Sondre, and Olav (and Mel) enough for their huge efforts in creating this, a show about something that is the most important thing in the world to many of us......CUSTOMS!!! It was great meeting and talking to some of the customizers and custom magazine guys there....especially guys I really admire for the work like Mark Wojcik, John Maurice and Joe Siclari.
Incredible!! I was so hoping to get to go to this and ROG. I was dying to know how it looked and what cars showed up. Thank you for sharing!!!
there is one big giant bunch of ugly right here. I've had my 61 dodge for almost 25 years, so I know all about ugly cars..
I read in another thread on the show that they set up a hotrod area for guys to show their cars if the wanted. Nice pictures guys!
I didn't see any issue in letting the hot rod guys partake in the custom festivities. There was plenty of room for both rods and customs, since I think a good number of people stayed home because of the inclement weather on Saturday morning. Also, since TROG is geared towards a very specific demographic of early-styled, flathead/banger powered rods, folks with some great looking rods get left out just like the custom guys if their otherwise traditionally-styled rods aren't appropriate for the race. The more the merrier, especially since the most of the rods were tasteful and traditional, and didn't ruin the ambiance at all. In fact, they added to it!
Funny.....whenever I see a picture of a full size 61 Dodge it get's my blood moving.....for me it's a thrilling design...AND to see a wild custom one, it's all over! Saw this one Saturday.....thought about for days.....(but that's just me).
