did OK selling. did not get to look around much till time for most everyone to pack up by 1:00 - too hot.
Thanks for taking and posting the pics, especially the details on the cars for sale. Some great deals there if we didn't have to pay shipping etc LOL And yes it definitely looks like everyone's gone home.
Yea that truck and trailer are over the top especially with a Mk II Lincoln rolling out of it. Pretty avant garde for their time. Thanks JJ.
was the place half empty again? I think when they have this swap they should not have it in both halves of the fairgrounds. you have to walk too far to see all the junk when it is all spread out.
I have always thought of "Turlock" being a restorer's type meet but have never managed to get there. Is it just the cars you photographed or is there more than one "Turlock" meet? Charlie Stephens
Been a while since I've gone to Turlock. Now I see flyers for two swaps. Any info on the one coming up in November? Just wondering if it be worth the drive. Couldn't make it out this weekend. Is it the same promoter? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
There are several swaps at Turlock throughout the year. The big one, and most talked about, is the last weekend in January. entire fairgrounds is filled for that one.
may have been more of a restorers meet way back in the olden days (1970's) but now it is everything car related. with a big car corral with maybe 100 or so cars for sale. the one in January is the best, the whole place is packed and it is 3 times the size of the other meets, well, actually the same "size" with 3 times the sellers. I think they have 4 a year and 2 different groups put them on.
There are two groups that put on the swaps later in the year in Turlock. This event was put on by Rich Roberts (The guy that built and owns the amazing yellow car hauler) along with his family and friends. Their website is springfallturlock.com
don't forget this coming Sunday, October 12 - Swap & Show in Stockton, CA at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds.
