The good ol' 53 Pontiac FINALLY went under the cuttin' wheel and got it's 55 Caddy headlights! I think it was a big improvement - Let me know ur thoughts! Thanks Tony!
Cool. I like it. Really changes the cars attitude in my opinion. What are you going to do with the bodyline?
I flattened out the body line - all but the corner of the light. So when I get to body work I will have to figure out how to make the transition really smooth in no space! I thought about keeping it but then the side profile of the fender would look like the Canadian Pontiac, basically a 53 chevy with Pontiac trim.
Small bar stock does wonders. File it smaller than what you want it to fade into, and weld the shit out of it. It works very well.
That's a home run! What else have you got planned? Any number of grills would work well; multi-tooth '53/'54 Chevy, '54/'55 Pontiac, Olds, Buick, ??? Do you have more pieces to play with? (Of course, it also looks good like it is.)
The parts i put on were about the only good sheetmetal on that caddy. I even had to patch one side so I had enough good metal to use. I wanted the front bumper too but the guy I got these from is gonna use it. As far as more mods ... I'm not sure yet. Already has frenched '50 tail lights Bought new housings and lenses and made my own buckets. Shaved handles too. I'm thinkin of moulding in the grille surround but not sure of what to use to fill the center later.
I didn't realise just how long it's been since I switched the headlights! It's been highway friendly mods the last couple years! But I stumbled onto a grill and bumper setup worthy of using a few weeks ago. So now I'm deep into that! I'll see if I can get pics up. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Man I love the caddy browes but (maybe I shouldnt say it) I like the original grille and bumper with em better, sorry thats just my .02 to each his own. 6 years later? Yep its time to get back on it whatever you do to it.
