Hmm, it has some cool parts on it, and the engine is killer . Not crazy about the whole package though.
Put that on a deuce frame and it would be a cool car. Lots of cool parts used just need a longer wheel base, or should I say extend the front end out
That's how they used to build 'em, they used what they had. Not every car built looked like a variation of the Doane Spencer roadster. That's why the people who try an be the traditional hot rod fashion police tick me off, sometimes a different idea works. Some things on that car work, some things don't. Am I making any sense? Anyway, the only thing it needs is about 10" in the front, and about 4" in the rear, fix the 4dr rear door thing, and maybe graft on an extra set of the rear edge of the front fenders to the rear fenders.
I LIKE THE CAR! You make alot of sense. Build em the way you want, and with the material and resources which work for you. Be different, it just may make a huge splash, and you'll start a fad.
I agree with Oakie. Did you ever see the Tex Avery cartoon where the timid cartoon car lives a dutiful life serving the owner, only to end up on the scrap-heap until an enterprising hot rodder picks it up, strips it down and turns it into a hot jalopy?
i think that's just a cover for the carb scoops, to keep snot nosed kids...and adults, from sticking garbage in the carb throats at car shows.
Of course...build it to suit yourself, but when you do, don't expect to have your work widely respected. That would be like cutting a beer fart in an elevator full of nuns and expecting high fives.
That is kinda what I was getting at. All the right components are in place, but the overall package looked out of whack. Not that it couldnt be "fixed".
Wow that has mostly the right parts but whoever built it didnt have the vision that they should have...just looks out of whack.
Im pretty sure that was car that was at Carisle, someone I kinda know tried to trade his custom studebaker pickup for it, and agree I thought it was kind of ugly but thought it was cool that its an old hot rod built in the 50's
