For those who enjoy trip reports... my car bud, Guy Graham, and I headed up to Indy in late August to take in the US Nationals and also join one leg of the 2014 AMSOIL SR tour for the trip back to Tampa via Pigeon Forge. We had a good time and the cars ran fine. First major accomplishment was getting him NOT to drive non-stop to Indy. Instead, we stopped at the Museum of Aviation near Macon (Robins AFB) and checked out the displays. He's an old USAF aircraft mechanic / electrician, so I also the inside tips on B-52 fuel systems and A-10s. We called it a day north of Atlanta and made my sister's place in Brownsburg the next day. She was quite the host (private garage stalls for each of our cars with clickers! LOL). And since she's still an associate sponsor for Elite Motorsports / Ericka Ender's PSC team, we got the full pro pit deal, TEC tickets, freebie shirts and hats, etc. Plus AMSOIL tour parking inside the gate! Too bad Ericka went out so early. We also stopped by to see the Rooman and he tipped us off to the car show at Shumacker's shop, so over we went. The day after the races we got to see Bruce Litton's private car collection and then headed south to Evansville and a tour of the AFCO factory (no cameras!). Wednesday we made Nashville via the hole in the ground at the Corvette museum and visited with some of my large scale train buds there. Guy was blown away by their huge train layouts. Thursday next morning we hit the Lane Auto Museum in Nashville before heading out to Pigeon Forge. I finally got the truck washed before dark and we took in the Shades show most of the day Friday. Totally sunburned, we left for Tampa the next AM and made it home easily by early evening. Pix to follow soon... Later, Gary
A few off beat pix - stuff of interest. First day at the US Nats, Bruce Litton's collection, Schumacker's show and cackle-fest (hey Rooman!). Gary
And more... The Corvette Museum, Lane Museum (a few from the Nissan collection) and offbeat cars n stuff. Yep, that's a Panhard. By the French guy who invented that "bar" we all know and love. Gary
Tommyd, I have no idea what you mean. But... now I see, said the blind man. I wonder how I might move it? Gary
................................Just send a PM (now conversation) to one of the moderators and ask them to move it to the main discussion forum. One of them may catch it anyway and move it. Great shots, looks like a blast.
No problem. Glad I came across it. Here's some random trivia for you. I found and restored the barber pole in Bruce Littons shop. I just happened to have one like he had before his shop caught fire. And he bought it.
Hey, I can't remember the guy's user name, but his build thread is here on the HAMB. A ( relatively ) young guy from north Alabama, up near Huntsville, I think. K6
