That's an awesome video! There's still a few of us around pullin' open trailers. I will admit I have thought about enclosing mine....

    Great video.

I'm too poor for a nice enclosed but it would be hard to switch after driving my dragster around with an open . . . I get people driving next to it, honking, thumbs up, and people telling me it looks good when at a stop light etc.

I'm seriously considering buying an old apache or edsel wagon to pull it because now my 2001 dodge 2500 looks out of place.

  7. I wouldn't mind owning one of those station wagons towing some of those rods. I also like the on top of the cab .A.C. unit on the old dodge hauler. Bruce.

Very interesting video. Thanks for posting.
There are many racers at the Byron Meltdown, that use open trailers. Some are pulled by cool era correct cars and trucks, too. The 57 Nomad was towing a 1960's rail, (if I remember right). The 63 Impala was flat towed by a 63 Chevy station wagon.

That would be cool to see. The last big nostalgia race I went to - I was surrounded by Enclosed Trailers and ***mins Diesels. I use a '47 Ford to tow my dragster - it is nice to get the thumbs up - especially from kids - I feel like it is my little way of getting the youngsters interested.

  10. Well then Jacin, I guess you need to come to the 2015 Meltdown Drags. Consider yourself officially invited!

You can see on the front of our 40 Ford and Jack Harris' roadster, the high tech "haulers" we used in the early 60's.

Many of the original old Raymond Beatles old trailers are in demand with the Nostalgic drag racers who not only want period correct drag cars but also their tow rigs.

The trailers may be old and need to be skinned and painted but guys are looking for them.
