I bought this '57 Chevy a few years ago... and started to pull it apart to clean it up. I found a name on a lot of the chrome parts... either engraved (like on the chrome garnish moldings) or on little stickers that read "customer" that were stuck on the back sides of bumpers and bumper guards. The name is Joe Boheman. Apparently he built this car... I am guessing in the 70's or early 80's. I could be wrong. It would be cool to contact him. I have three other names of people who owned the car after Joe. One of which is Nathan Lee. As far as I can tell, he's the next owner. Just looking for info... that anyone has. Thanks guys! Sam Here's the car as purchased. From little clues found on the car... it appears as though it either had slot mags or five spokes on it... and the radiused fender flares may or may not have been on it when it was painted this color green the first time. Also, it had a 454 in it... Hurst mount... and the rear end was painted orange. I am guessing it had 5 spokes or slot mags in it at one time, because the brake drums were painted yellow. Anyone remember this car?
Was it ever red ? Have you gotten into the paint archaeology yet ? Dash.........can you see any black metallic flake anywhere ? Also....what kind of rear end does it have under it ? Three pedals ? If any of the above are found below the current paint levels........P/M me please.
BTTT Sam, you might check with the San Jose Cl***ic Chevy Club. I was a member in the late '80's/early '90's while stationed at Moffett Field. They were pretty active & well-connected. Good luck, Gary
Ask around at the rod nuts or rod n wheelers they may have an idea Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
One of my friends neighbors built this car in the early to mid eighties. Norm Leal is his name. Whether or not some one built it up before him I do not know but Norm put the lime green paint on it and did all the running gear work in his garage. He also had an auto body shop in Sunnyvale I believe. jeff
Thank you Jejj... Sadly, I found out Norm p***ed away last year. http://www.legacy.com/guestbooks/mercurynews/norman-leal-condolences/175803519 I wish I could have talked to him. Do you know how to contact the family? Sam
