Just bought a 54 chopped, bagged Bel air project. The rear is a little too wide and hits the inside quarters, Can anyone tell me the best rear for the job or is a custom built rear the answer. I would like to run skirts but want to set it in the gr***.

S-10 4x4 or second gen Camaro/Firebird. Both perfect fits.

What about changing the wheels to some with more back spacing.

I was thinking about front wheel drive car wheels, they are really set in deep

  9. '55 to '57 rear work well. Stock rear is 60" wide, so is the '55 to '57.

late 70's to mid 80's Monte Carlos, Cutl***, Grand Prix all work 58"drum to drum.
    and they are everywhere.

and yes all 4x4 S-10 and S-15 will work also

  12. The s10 rear ends have to be 4 wheel drive units.

Wheels, and maybe a quarter relief would do wonders. I can't believe one would do all that work, and flub a rear axle dimension. Gotta' be an easier fix for you.

How about some pictures ? ? ? Need more intel' please.
