CENTENARY OF SPEED Lake Perkolilli 1914—2014 100 hundred years in the making, this years racing was a wash out. Cars, bikes and their drivers/riders had been gathering at the lake since Wednesday hoping for a good festival of speed. After battling temperatures of over 44 degrees C. on Thursday the heavens opened up on Friday night dumping more than 25 mm of rain on the lake. Kalgoorlie Boulder is also hosting a Veterans car show at the moment so those people who chose not to head home relocated to the show. The veterans car show is being held at the local trotting track and after some negotiation the cars were allowed to do some demonstration laps.
Ted had come all the way from Darwin, there was no way he was going to let a bit of rain spoil his fun.
The fella who owns this one had the fenders off and had to put them back on before heading in to town.
Neat photos, unfortunate about the washout. Not sure about the location either but with a name like Lake Perkolilli how can you go wrong.
