"me and the Mrs bought a little ranchette in Cedar Park, and we just moved in last night. Plenty of room for a big hot rod garage, construction on which begins soon, and thereafter stuffed with my 29, 31 and 32.

    Excelsior!"

    Ha!!!
I can see the grin from here!!!

  2. Gees, when I read the ***le, I thought maybe someone ended up on death row in Texas. LOL
BTW there are people that move north for retirement, but they don't stop in Chicago, they go all the way to the UP. Winters are a cold snowy ***** up there, but you don't need Air Conditioning in the summer

  3. Tom - no state income tax, I gave myself an automatic 5% raise.

Jeff - I'll think of you every time I drink PBR.

Laura - I'll send DW my contact info. Let's get together soon!

Jason!! You coming down for the US Grand Prix? I'll send you my digits.

Garry - I plan to be there, hope to see you

Hey Joe, I'll probably be coming back to Chicago once a month or so, hope to see you around.

Yo Eric! Long time no speak - hope all's well.

Yo Jeffro! You going to Autorama in Spring? I'll have my '32 there, hope to see you.

Sweet mod-looking house. Not to hijack your thread, but you seem like a guy who would know, are there any HAMB type forums for midcentury houses/furniture/stuff like that? I know of a couple slow/dead ones and a couple blogs but hoping for something a bit more active.

No, I'm skipping it this year. Have a lot to do before I leave next weekend for SEMA. Though you should go check out my girlfriend's place at Lonestar Rallycross just south of COTA.

  8. Do you have your cars down there... or are you looking for shipping possibilities for your toys?

    Mike,
Cool house, it's very similar to something thats been rolling around in my head, but I'm thinking shed roof on one side and barrel vault on the other. Any chance of seeing a few more pics. For a garage I'd be thinking shed roof, aluminum service doors with frosted gl***.....
